More than 100 cases of property crimes and 61 cases of violent crimes were investigated by Graham County Police in 2019. The annual crime average was 165 incidences, as compared to the 126 complaints recorded in 2018.
Over 55 cases of serious assault were among the 61 violent crime cases. There were 20 burglaries, 76 larceny-theft reports, and 8 motor vehicle theft complaints among the 104 property crime incidents.
Between 2001 and 2008, there were about 4,000 total crimes reported in Graham County. Of those crimes, only 17% were considered violent. Of those violent crimes, there was only one murder and two rapes. However, the number of assaults reported was almost 700 for those years.
